We provide assistance without discrimination, guided by people's needs and giving priority to the most urgent cases of distress.
We do not take sides in hostilities or engage in political, racial, religious, or ideological controversies.
We maintain the autonomy necessary to act in accordance with the Fundamental Principles while fulfilling our humanitarian responsibilities.
We are part of a voluntary relief movement motivated by humanitarian service rather than personal gain.
There can be only one Red Cross or Red Crescent Society in any one country. It must be open to all and carry out its humanitarian work throughout its territory.
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is worldwide. All National Societies have equal status and share responsibilities and duties in helping one another.
